Visiting a college campus becomes an essential way for you to evaluate if a college is the right fit for you. Campus visits can identify colleges that seem great on paper but may have the wrong campus vibe; alternatively, one that seems uninteresting on the website can come alive during a campus tour.
Campus Visits are Necessary!
It might be difficult to describe the feeling you have when you arrive at a college campus, but there is a feeling – good or bad.
Nothing takes the place of doing a live “gut-check”
Internet research can only take you so far. A campus visit can allow you to experience it all. Whether you are traveling across the country or driving across town, walk across the quad. Do you get goose bumps? Does this place feel like it could be your next home? Sample the food, check out the dorms, and talk to students. While you may not be able to visit all the schools on your list, visiting even one college can add value and help you figure out priorities that you can use to compare against other schools later on. It is all about finding your best “fit”.
